We're heading to Wyoming in our camper for about 10 days. We'll be entering the state through Laramie and leaving through Cody as we head into South Dakota.
We'd like to explore the Winds and the Tetons. We would also like to avoid crowds and plan to camp on forest service land as much as possible.
Can anyone share a potential itinerary? Off the beaten path, remote locations? Thank you so much.

All I'll say is to recommend you head west out of Laramie using Rte 130 through the Snowy Range . For a real "boondocks" segment take 230 south to Riverside and then 70 all the way to Baggs and then 789 north to Creston and I-80. You'll understand completely once you've done it.

The North Fork Campground is about 5-6 miles from Centennial in the Medicine Bow-Routt National Forest. There are a few others but North Fork along the Little Larime River looks like the best of the bunch.

Google "Wyoming National Forests" and choose the appropriate one. Its website will list all the campgrounds under "Recreation" or as its own subject line.

When? Are you looking for completely free camping? What kind of camper/size do you have? Most campgrounds in/near the Tetons are currently closed except for the developed park service campground at Gros Ventre but more park service campgrounds will open this weekend. There's free camping in designated sites only along the forest service road off of the main park highway that goes behind Triangle X Ranch. There are more designated sites on the north end of Antelope Flats Rd. There's a lot of competition for those sites due to the lack of other available camping but we did see a few available spaces yesterday. It looks like they're about to reopen Pacific Creek Campground as that road just reopened yesterday but they're currently doing road work so we didn't drive down it. The road to Sheffield Campground is open but the creek was running so fast that we didn't attempt to cross it. All of these are in the Bridger Teton Forest. I would give them a call to see what options are available 307-739-5400. No visitor centers are open for walk ins to ask questions at this time.

Where I said "north end of Antelope Flats Rd" is actually the south end of Shadow Mountain Rd where the designated camping sites start. There are more designated sites if you drive up Shadow Mountain (higher clearance recommended) from the south (the gate from the north is currently closed). There were a few sites left at the top today with great views. There's more dispersed camping if you head out on the highway toward Dubois. About 3 miles from Moran Junction, take a left on Buffalo Valley Rd which is paved. The dispersed camping is before you get to Turpin Meadows Campground which is 8 miles in and also open. This area had more available sites.

We drove down Pacific Creek Rd today after they finished grading it and it's the smoothest I've ever seen this road. There are a few designated sites before you get to the campground. We only saw one site occupied probably because the road just reopened two days ago.

We have a 19' camper and plan on arriving Sunday if all goes well!

You should be fine in any of those areas with a 19'. It's been very quiet midweek in the Tetons. We hardly see anyone on our hikes. Three lodges and more campgrounds are opening today so things may start to pick up. Have a great time!
