Photos of France

Few of us will be traveling to France for the foreseeable future, but we all have our memories. And photos, lots of photos. Would you share some of your favorites? I'll start with this view of Azay le Rideau, as seen from the back. If we were ever to downsize, I'd want a little place like this.

The château of Pierrefonds remains one of me favorite places close to Paris (100km).

Love that everyone is doing this - nothing better than some beautiful photos of France to distract from all the craziness!

I will try to add some later!

Wholeheartedly agree, merci infiniment kerouac! Will pull up something from our Provence visit June 2018, hopefully I can figure out how to upload it...

Well, I certainly didn't since I ended up with a miniature. But I will try to do better next time.

kerouac, your report on Pierrefonds is one of my all-time favorites of your photo reports. Would you be willing to put a link to it here for anybody who hasn't seen it?

cheska, lovely photo and it must remind you of a shady walk on a sunny day.

gardyloo, some iconic photos there. I'm so glad I saw Mont Saint Michel long ago, because now I get a thrill seeing it from a distance and don't have to fight crowds.

I'm going to try a smaller photo this time. It's just a tiny house in a small town.

Not a problem. Here is the link:

I also returned totally by accident to the medieval festival there a few years ago.

Wissembourg, the gem of northern Alsace. Just across the border from my place, but unreachable for me under current circumstances.

Either we were there on the same day, Adalaidean, or the owners of the car live there - I'd assume the latter. Checked photos of other visits, the car is there, too.
These cars are nicknamed "Ente" (duck) in German, by the way. But they have become rare birds in the run of the years.

This little town is romantic overkill.

P.S. Many thanks to the OP for opening this thread, it's wonderful to do some "armchair travel" in these times.
