9 days in the Bahamas...advice needed.

Hi all,

My wife and I (in our early 30's) are planning 9 days in the Bahamas at the beginning of June. We have most of it figured out already, however, we are stuck on figuring out how long to stay on Black Point in the Exumas. Our itinerary is as follows:

Friday, June 7th
Fly Miami to Nassau (840am-935am)
Fly Nassau to Governor’s Harbour (1200pm-1220pm)
Afternoon in Governor’s Harbour
Overnight in Governor’s Harbour

Saturday, June 8th
Day in Governor’s Harbour
Overnight in Governor’s Harbour

Sunday, June 9th
Day in Governor’s Harbour
Overnight in Governor’s Harbour

Monday, June 10th
Day in Governor’s Harbour
Overnight in Governor’s Harbour

Tuesday, June 11th -
Fly Governors Harbour to Nassau (730am-750am)
Day in Nassau
Overnight in Nassau (Grand Hyatt Baha Mar)

Wednesday, June 12th
Day in Nassau
Overnight in Nassau (Grand Hyatt Baha Mar)

Thursday, June 13th
Fly Nassau to Black Point (800-840am)
Day in Black Point (private boat tour to see pigs, sharks, iguanas, thunderball grotto, sand bar)
Overnight in Black Point

Friday, June 14th
Day in Black Point (Explore island/beach day)
Overnight in Black Point????

****THIS IS WHERE WE ARE UNSURE...DO WE STAY ANOTHER NIGHT IN BLACK POINT AND HAVE ANOTHER DAY THERE, FLYING BACK TO NASSAU AT 5PM ON THE 15TH, OR DO WE HEAD BACK TO NASSAU AT 5PM THIS DAY (THE 14TH)****

Saturday, June 15th
Day in Black Point
Fly Black Point to Nassau (500pm-540pm)
Overnight in Nassau (Comfort Suites Paradise Island)

****We were planning to spend this extra day in Black Point checking out the Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park and island hopping, but it appears that a boat rental costs a lot of money. Since we are already paying $500 for our full day trip with the boat to see the pigs, etc on the 13th, we are a bit hesitant to spend this again just to get driven around to different beaches/islands. Is there a cheaper option to do this?****

IF WE FLY BACK ON THE 14TH...

Saturday, June 15th
Day at Atlantis Resort (aquarium, waterslides, lazy river float, Cabbage beach)
Overnight in Nassau (Comfort Suites Paradise Island)

Sunday, June 16th
Fly Nassau to Ft Lauderdale (900am - 1005am)
Fly Ft Lauderdale back to Vancouver

Any advice on this dilemma regarding Black Point would be greatly appreciated. In addition, we have yet to book our accommodation for Governors Harbours so any recommendations there would be greatly appreciated also (we really like Pineapple Fields but wondering if there is anything slightly less expensive that anyone recommends.

Thank you in advance

Did you already reserve Black Point? You'd be much better off staying at Staniel Cay, which is fantastic. The room package with food includes meals at the excellent restaurant there, and a skiff to explore all the surrounding cays of Exumas including swimming pigs. Just stay in Exumas, head back in 1 sweep

Or rearrange--from Harbour Island fly back to Nassau then Staniel Cay, spend last 2-3 nights at Baha Mar

When at Baha Mar go spend the day at Sandy Toes

I agree with blamona. If you can get to Staniel Cay it's definitely worth it. IMO, while Atlantis is this expensive, exclusive resort, there are better ways to spend your time/money. It's neat, but not fantastic.
