Where to go in Russian Arctic?

I've been working on a photography project in arctic Norway, Svalbard, & Iceland. I'm interested in visiting arctic Russia but don't know anything about travel in these regions. Looking for suggestions on places to start researching possible places to go and the best way to get around these areas. I'm interested in historical subjects, old architecture, villages, ruins, landscapes with these in them. See link below for examples of this work from Iceland. Want to do similar in Russia. I have been looking into the White Sea area but am hoping to get other ideas. It's a big country.
Thank you.

Murmansk, anywhere in the Yamal Peninsula, Vorkuta for what remains of the Soviet hard labor system, Vaygach Island for insights into ancient religion in the Artic
