Light at the end of the tunnel
Hi everyone,
I know we are still in dark times, but even with the slow rollout of the vaccine, life will return to some semblance of normal sooner than later and to get me through these trying times, I am starting to plan a five week vacation for late summer, spending a week in the Czech Republic and then a month in Italy.
I have travelled to many places in Italy over the last decade, with my last road trip to Calabria and Sicily in the summer 2019. It was magnificent.
This trip, I really don't care what region in Italy we travel to but we thought it would be interesting to find out some of the most beautiful hotels/resorts/B&B's in Italy you have stayed at. This list would also be very helpful for anyone travelling to Italy this year or next.
Our favourite hotel is the Villa Paola in Tropea.
Thanks and hoping everyone is well and keeping safe.

Hmm, I tend to stay in modest-ish places, so not top-of-the-line luxury--but very nice. Off the top of my head:
Parkhotel Laurin in Bolzano
Casa Talìa in Modica
Hotel Cenobio dei Dogi in Camogli
Hotel Nerva in Rome is an intimate jewel-box with great service, a favorite
Also in Rome: Albergo del Senato and VOI Donna Camilla Savelli
Hotel NH Piazza Carlina in Torino (stayed there right after they completed a major renovation)
I know I'm forgetting places...

We love La Casa di Vania in Ravello -- b&b, two rooms only.
Another b&b in the same building is La Dolce Vita--haven't stayed in that one but both 5 min walk to the piazza, with fabulous views of the Amalfi Coast, slightly toward Salerno.
In Rome I like WRH Trastevere in, of course, Trastevere. (For a more central "hotel" experience I like Albergo del Senato.
In Florence we prefer Hotel David, AltroArno/across the river and fairly near Ponte Vecchio.
In imprumenta, outside of Florence, is a lovely agriturismo, Villa Monteoriolo.
