prices change all the time, sales happen too.

Depends when in the year you go, September and October are cheapest, followed by summer. December thru May usually the most expensive.

Depends where you're flying from, and where you want to go.

Sometimes places like Expedia "bundle" air with rooms for savings, sometimes best to buy separately.

You can sign up for each airline to email you of specials. For example, Jetblue from time to time has a sale.

Unfortunately it's not as easy as just asking us. You need to do all the work, and check many times, as prices are always changing.

Flights tend to be cheapest where they can bring in the masses, for example, Dominican Republic. Not to say that sales can be at other destinations.

There are over 800 islands in "the Bahamas" the cost to fly to them varies and depends on which island you want to visit.

You'll have to first fly to Miami - from there you can fly to most of the larger islands and many of the smaller ones in the chain. A quick look shows Round Trip flights next September on Bahamasair from Miami to Nassau are in the range of $267US to $310US per person. Other airlines and islands in the chain may be more or less

Go to websites like Kayak, Expedia, Orbitz and put your planned dates of travel and select the island(s) you think you want to visit - you'll get schedules and prices for most of the available flights.

Start here:

www.orbitz.com

www.kayak.com

http://bahamasair.com

flights.expedia.com/cheap-flights-to-bahamas/

HINT: You'll probably find the best prices (from Miami) will be to the larger islands like Nassau, Grand Bahama, Eleuthera, Andros, Abaco

Use your major international airline of choice to get from Milan to Miami.

You can go via London, it's better to transit outside of the US if possible. Layover time, immigration and customs make going thru the US a pain for non US citizens and MIA is one very busy airport.

BA fly MIL to London Heathrow and there is a 5 times a week service Heathrow to Nassau. The connection is thru Terminal 5. You will most certainly not book flights one by one (ie MIL to MIA then buy another ticket MIA to NAS, it is not a cost effective way of doing this from your part of the world).
Check the BA website, you can get fares for about EUR810 upwards inc taxes for adults.

If you want to go somewhere other than Nassau, you will have to purchase sep tkts to the other islands.

Check AA website or Expedia etc other websites (make sure you select Italy as your home country) to compare against options via MIA (these will be on AA).

Grand Bahamas and Nassau are way too crowded for my tastes. I like Eleuthera, Long Island, Abaco and the Exumas. You have to understand the Bahamas are relatively flat and somewhat scrubby islands so you won't find dense rain forests. What you will get is miles and miles of unspoiled beaches.

Max all the Out Islands are beautiful, and definitely peaceful (quiet).

If you're trying to fly from Bahamas to somewhere else, most require flights back to either Miami, San Juan, etc. (and can get costly, and can require overnights at these connections)

So we have to ask: you're planning on staying in the Bahamas? Because if you're trying to island hop to other islands there's no cheap way to do it.

If staying in Bahamas, flights on Bahamas Air stay pretty constant, there's no sercret to saving money. There are promotions if using Majestic Travels (belongs to Bahamas Tourist boards) where you stay at a certain island you get "inter" islands air free. You can find these promotions on majestics website, and include Staniel Cay, Cat Island, Harbour Island, etc.

Nassau would be your base for these. If Freeport is your base (because we don't know where in Bahamas you're going), then you still have to go back to Nassau.

If trying other islands all together, then it's a lot harder to do.

It's actually extremely hard and costly to see multiple islands in Caribbean if that's what you're trying to do.

From Nassau, you can fly to any of the Out Islands of Bahamas. You need more than 2 nights though, as you'll miss time based on flights.

You can go to Abacos, Exumas, Eleuthera (and Harbour Island), etc, pretty much all inter islands of Bahamas.

Now to go to another island country from Nassau, you don't have enough time for only 2 days. (but you can fly to Turks and Caicos from Nassau, but with only 3 flights weekly you have to stay at least 3 nights there)

If staying in Massau/Paradise Island, you can actually go for the day by ferry to Harbour Island (2 hours each way, but you have enough time to explore the island, lunch, play on the beach). You can also take a day long excursion to northern part of Exumas from there.

All the rest require domestic flights.
